3D simulator capabilities
The 3D simulator is a simulation software that can be used for investigation and optimization of the extrusion process and testing, validation and correction of die designs. It enables users to save on correction costs and to obtain longer lifetimes of critical parts..
User Interface:
- die drawings imported in step data format
- die analysis performed in a few simple steps
- possible to submit jobs on our computers
Support for the following die types:
- solid, semi-hollow, and hollow profiles
- multi-hole dies
- feeder plates and spreaders
Material database
- database of commonly used alloys for tool and alloy materials
- constitutive laws obtained from experiments on real production presses
Die optimization (with associated tools)
- design of the bearing region (bearing length and pocket dimensions) with the automatic bearing calculator (ABC)
- determination of optimum process conditions (ram speed, billet preheat, taper) using the process simulator (PS)
Post-processing:
- temperature in tool and alloy parts
- velocity and pressure in alloy
- tool deflection and stresses
- visualization features: streamlines for material flow, cross-section, clips, plots along lines, ...
